Goodbye Boss, Hello Kids! A Mom's Guide to Coming Home to the Kids

"I just finished, 'Goodbye Boss, Hello Kids!' with Dar and am so happy that I was given the opportunity. Before I began the course, I wanted to find a way to contribute to my family's income, as well as start an Emergency Fund. The trouble with that, is that I didn't have a solid commitment or plan in place to do either.

I always looked at saving money as a difficult thing. I viewed it from a point of deprivation, instead of from a point of freedom. Through the Goodbye Boss, Hello Kids! series, I learned that saving -- while giving me financial freedom -- also opened up ways to reward myself and secure my future.

I learned being on a budget can be a challenge, and not a chore. I now see that Financial Freedom is more about workable strategies than scrimping. I'm encouraged about finding ways to make my money last (and sticking with them), buying items only when needed, and the many other creative things I learned.

It was also a plus to have the camaraderie of others seeking the same goals to talk to each week. We all have dreams and needs -- and we sometimes need a little boost along the way.

I've learned to question each purchase now. "Is what I'm buying bringing me closer to my dream, or further away?" When you look at it like that, it can help to put things into a whole new perspective.
